From its first incarnation as a boutique DIY beauty supply on Belltown’s 2nd Avenue to its three salons today, VAIN has been committed to encouraging personal self-expression and challenging conventional understandings of beauty.
Over the years VAIN has built a reputation for delivering cutting-edge style in a comfortable and empowering atmosphere. Whether in Capitol Hill, in Ballard, or in West Seattle, VAIN stylists and staff can help you achieve your personal style vision.
VAIN believes strongly in community engagement and has been an active participant in the Seattle community through its activism, mentorship, donations, and guerrilla hair showcases.
VAIN has received numerous accolades since it opened its doors in 1996. In 2015, Elle Magazine named VAIN one of the 100 best hair salons in the U.S. and Seattleites chose VAIN for best hair salon in the Seattle Weekly’s Best of Seattle 2015 Reader Poll.
